Honors Program

Applying to the Honors Program in General Education

Candidates for admission to the Honors Program in General Education are students who want to be challenged and have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement in high school. Most candidates will have taken four years each of English, history and social science, mathematics, laboratory science, as well as some Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) courses if offered in their high schools.

Admission to the Honors Program is by invitation only, and there is no formal application process. Candidates are evaluated on the strength of their entire academic record, including the rigor of their high school curricula, grade point average, standardized test scores, and leadership qualities as identified through their application portfolio. Successful candidates will receive a letter of invitation and each incoming freshman class is limited to the first 125 students who accept the invitation.
