Prospective Faculty

The Honors Program in General Education is always interested in attracting new faculty from all units and disciplines within the university. The qualifications for teaching in the program are that teaching faculty must normally be full-time (tenured or tenure track) faculty members who have demonstrated excellence in classroom teaching, who are active in research and scholarship in their chosen field(s) and have demonstrated achievement in scholarship, and who have a commitment to working with students both inside and outside the classroom.

If you are interested in teaching in the Honors Program, please contact Zofia Burr, the Director, by telephone: 703-993-1110 or by E-mail: zburr@gmu.edu. There is no formal application process, though you will be asked to submit a curriculum vitae. The CV and your teaching evaluations on file in the university library will be reviewed by the Honors Executive Committee, who will make a recommendation to the Director about admitting new faculty to the program.
